Final Brochure layout

31/3/14
Just wondering why my pages are shown as grey,
but all of my spreads are white.
Anyway after today's critique I've actually changed lots of things from the previous spreads.
 Front cover: changed
I've tried to incorporate symbol of cross and a square for building
Lines around circle represents wind and water(sea/harbor)
I've used colors from my booklet+ some wellington colors such as grey and red.
Almost every brochure page that I've created has 'grey' as a base color.

 Introduction page: changed
I've tried to make it flow better with my other spreads.
Instead of cramping everything in center I've changed alignments and changed major layouts.

Nothing much has changed on this one. The only thing that I've changed is alignments of texts and symbols.

Nothing much has changed on this one as well. Just symbols and texts.
I've decided to change main photo because other buildings were showing exterior and old st paul's was the only one showing interior.

Nothing much has changed. Symbols and text alignment

Extra cover: changed
I wasn't communicating well on the previous extra spread that I've created
My main focus was to create a spread that is consistent
and to show different kind of architectural style through out some imagery.

I'm quite happy about the progress that I have made.

Brochure design, refining stage

23/3/14
Finally got my whole brochure done For VCD studio, Still have lots to refine
I'm happy about critiques that I get from classmates, that will keep me going for now.

-when i folded this I realized that the width needed to be longer.
-Texts are all in caps so it is really hard for people to read: pull all the text down to lower case. + reduce the letter size and change font to Garamond.
-catholic church architecture under icons looks a bit random. Put it in heading.
-pics under the map are out of grid, reduce the size and align it with icons.
-Create my own map. Maybe with stain glass.
but i will have to find a way to incorporate stain glass idea with other spreads as well for consistency.

-Body copy: Garamond
-Try to incorporate stain glass idea with spreads
-Pull out circle on the right to see if it flows better.
 -Body copy: Garamond
-Try to incorporate stain glass idea with spreads
  -Body copy: Garamond

-Design wise this is great, but it might be a bit random.
Try to put address under maps and bring in some fun fact about this churches
FOR EXAMPLE Materials that the building was built in. (putting wood texture in)
Organs for Old st paul's, Pillars for sacred heart etc.
-abstracted stain glass.
I was totally going for hills and seas and wind in Wellington
Squiggly line quality comes from Wellington art culture.

but my designs for brochure have thin lines and lots of spaces around it
so i might as well change design of stain glass
and bring in colours from inside of brochure so it doesn't look too random.
